Movie Review: Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Official Sypnosis referred from IMDB: After the events of "Ice Age: The Meltdown", life begins to change for Manny and his friends: Scrat is still on the hunt to hold onto his beloved acorn, while finding a possible romance in a female sabre-toothed squirrel named Scratte. Manny and Ellie, having since become an item, are expecting a baby, which leaves Manny anxious to ensure that everything is perfect for when his baby arrives. Diego is fed up with being treated like a house-cat and ponders the notion that he is becoming too laid-back. Sid begins to wish for a family of his own, and so steals some dinosaur eggs which leads to Sid ending up in a strange underground world where his herd must rescue him, while dodging dinosaurs and facing danger left and right, and meeting up with a one-eyed weasel known as Buck who hunts dinosaurs intently.

I'm giving 3 and a half star for this movie mainly for its cuteness and the funny lines. Just like the usual Ice Age movies, small scrat is still hunting for the acorn but what is new about this movie is that he found the love of his life besides Acorn. =P The movie reflects the parental instincts on these animals. The story exposes the friendships between the group of animals who stick together through thick and thin. It is a really heart-warming movie that you might not want to miss.

Movie Review: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Official Sypnosis referred from IMDB:The battle for Earth has ended but the battle for the universe has just begun. After returning to Cybertron, Starscream assumes command of the Decepticons, and has decided to return to Earth with force. The Autobots believing that peace was possible finds out that Megatron's dead body has been stolen from the US Military by Skorpinox and revives him using his own spark. Now Megatron is back seeking revenge and with Starscream and more Decepticon reinforcements on the way, the Autobots with reinforcements of their own, may have more to deal with then meets the eye.

I strongly disagree that a movie like this deserves 1 popcorn ratings. From the movie, you could tell one has put in tremendous efforts into making this video. It's not a easy job doing the visual effects, the cars, the gadgets, the alienlike characters and their detailed features on their body and faces. It's one COOL movie that all the Transformers fan will love. Although I don't grow up playing with the transformer toys, although I'm not a big fan of transformer either, I did enjoy watching this movie on the big screen and appreciated the fabulous scenes.

The only drawback is that, for the fighting scenes, the camera could go a bit shaky and for a few times, made me feel uneasy staring at the screen play taken with the shaky camera. Also, the camera gets really too close when the robots are fighting and at some point in time, I've lost my view of which is the good and which is the bad. Besides those few issues, this movie does great job to me.

Ahem.. Not forgetting the sexy Megan who has been one of the many reasons why men (both Transformer fans and non-Transformers fans) look forward to this movie. Remember how Megan Fox looked in the "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" as compared to the current "Transformer" movie? She's always been one gorgeous girl I must say.

I like this pic of hers:
